Welcome to the weekly newsletter, where I share my musings on world events. I’ll also use this to identify those deserving of our collective side-eye. I’ll share thought-provoking online gems or things that make me laugh (because we need both). And sometimes, I may include personal nonsense. I hope this brightens your week and makes you think.
Nonsense
It’s Showtime!
Tomb Raider is coming to Prime Video in a live-action series. Phoebe Waller-Bridge will write and executive produce the series.
Only Murders in the Building will be back on Hulu on August 27. Season Four features several Hollywood favorites.
A Legally Blonde prequel, Elle, is in the works. Reese Witherspoon will produce the show for Amazon Prime Video.
The official Wicked trailer has dropped. The film will be released on November 27.
Rumor is that “RENAISSANCE: A FILM BY BEYONCÉ” will debut on Disney+ in July.
Have you seen Baby Reindeer yet? It’s a fascinating based-on-true-events story, although I recommend it with trigger warnings (stalking, sexual assault). The full series is available to watch on Netflix.
Another great show, Under the Bridge, stars Lily Gladstone and Riley Keough. It tells the based-on-real-events story of teenager Reena Virk’s murder. Six of the eight episodes are now available on Hulu; new episodes air on Wednesdays.

Remember the Baltimore bridge collapse that happened nearly two months ago? Twenty-one crew members have been unable to leave the ship due to visa restrictions, a lack of required shore passes, and ongoing investigations by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and FBI. Their phones were confiscated as part of the investigation, leaving them cut off from the outside world. Eventually, they were provided with SIM cards and temporary mobile phones without data.
