Welcome to the weekly newsletter, where I share my musings on world events. I’ll also use this to identify those deserving of our collective side-eye. I’ll share thought-provoking online gems or things that make me laugh (because we need both). And sometimes, I may include personal nonsense. I hope this brightens your week and makes you think.

Nex Benedict, a sixteen-year-old non-binary child, was beaten by older girls in a school bathroom. They died the next day. Oklahoma leads the nation in anti-LGBTQ legislation. Rest in power, Nex.
Flaco, the Eurasian eagle-owl that’s been living in Central Park after someone vandalized his exhibit in the Central Park Zoo, has died. It’s suspected that he ran into a building, although he’s been taken to the Bronx Zoo for a necropsy. Fly high, Flaco.
